East Stirling News Update
Everyone at The Shire would like to wish under-20 team trialist Stuart Mitchell a speedy recovery after he sustained a nasty eye injury in Tuesday’s SPFL Development League win at Cowdenbeath.
Stuart was involved in a clash of heads with a Cowden player after 58 minutes of the 2-1 win which left him with a gash above his right eye.
He was attended to by paramedics in the visitors changing room before ending up at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert where he had five stiches inserted in the cut.
It means Stuart will be sidelined for some time after making a couple of impressive appearances for the team at right-back.
The club would also like to pass on its thanks to the officials and staff of Cowdenbeath FC who helped care for Stuart and to the paramedics who were the first to treat the injury.
We all hope Stuart is back in action before too long.
