Both Manchester United and Manchester City began the season under new management and with high hopes of dominating the Premier League again in 2013-14. However 6 games in things are not quite working out according to the plan.
Manchester United lost 2-1 to West Brom at Old Trafford on Saturday and have now lost 3 of their opening 6 games their worst start in 24 years and they are already 8 points behind the leaders Arsenal. Its still early days but the in this era of instant success or out David Moyse will already be feeling the weight of expectation on his shoulders.
Manchester City may be 3 points better off than their local rivals (thanks to their 4-1 win over them last week), however with only one point on their travels so far, they are not immune from the pressure. They twice led at Villa before losing 3-2 thanks to Andreas Weimann 75th Minute goal. They are 5 points adrift of Arsenal but at least they still have the divisions best goal difference.
Six games doesn’t make a season, however maybe this is the season when the Premier League becomes interesting again (from a neutrals point of view anyway) with several teams potentially having the chance to take the title.
