With the Premier League & Championship having the weekend off thanks to the International Matches being played, the focus this weekend was on Leagues 1 & 2 in England.
Last seasons shock League Cup finalists Bradford City produced the big result of the day beating Brentford 4-0 in front of an impressive 13,621 crowd. Brentford were hindered by having their keeper sent off while the score was still 0-0 however its the final score that counts at the end of the season, and a goal in each half from James Hanson helped Bradford maintain their 100% home record.
Other good performances were newly promoted Rotherham’s 3-1 win over Sheffield United, and Crewe’s battling performance against promotion fancies Peterborough, who equalised in injury time having been 2-0 down at one stage.
Carlisle managed to lose again and it looks like being a long hard season for the Cumbrian’s who have only managed 2 points so far and have a -13 goal difference.
